“Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Draws my memory to a Richard Rohr quote: “Jesus came as a human being not to teach us how to go to heaven, but to how to be a fully alive human being here on this earth.” 

Such a great verse and thought as we enter into this day. As the verse opens with “Abandon”...draws me to think of the old western movie ghost town that only has a tumbleweed rolling through it. That is what our abandonment of selfishness should look like. GONE. However, that is very easy to type and to say but totally different to live out. This is the dying to self, regular death and resurrection to our desires and flesh. Jesus was the model, how verse 5 ends is awesome. Let his mindset become our motivation. The mind of Christ, that is our motivation.
