2 Timothy 4 - Guidepost

Being prepared in season and out, keeping your head in all situations, living a life of purpose and passion towards fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ can and will be a significant challenge Paul continues to remind us. But the fruit, the joy, the anticipation, and the prize of the crown of righteousness, in the end, is something worthy to long and guide towards. 

2 Timothy 3- Warned and Inspired

So, as Paul is on death row, nearing his last breath on earth, he pens this letter letting Timothy know the last days there will be very difficult times, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.  Well, happy Thursday, have a great day! Right…

2 Timothy 2 - A Compounding Life

If you had a choice between 1 million dollars, tax-free and in your checking account today, or a single penny and doubled it every day for 30 days, what would you pick? 1 million dollars today in my accounts sounds great; it’s instant, it seems effortless and quick. But if you choose that route, you would have missed the opportunity to have $5,368,709.12.

2 Timothy 1 - Boldness

In this letter, 2 Timothy, we are reading Paul's last words. To sum it up, Paul is on death row in Rome, closing in on his execution. With that in mind, and as the context of this reading, a few things really hit me this morning.

1 Timothy 6 - Flee from all this

We are called to Love the Lord our God...not love money. Money and worldly wealth can be a beautiful thing, a blessing from God when it is part of a true purpose and Godly mission. May today, we center ourselves around the Shema, focusing on loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and strength. 1 Timothy 5 - Rules of Conduct

Chapter 5 lays down some rules and structure for the church towards others, specifically around benevolence. Taking care of others and adequately navigating needs. The reality is, the church finds itself having way more needs than recourse, so it needs to be smart and a wise steward of those resources. Thinking through that lens, I think we can read this chapter and take away a lot of substantial learnings on stewarding the resources we have, and how we can leverage them wisely and steward them in a way that honors God and inspires others.

1 Timothy 4 - Food and Workouts

This morning a few things spoke to me in chapter 4, some great reminders. Opening in this chapter, Paul reminds and informs Timothy that teachers and preachers will be coming and are around that are hypocritical liars and deceiving people.

1 Timothy 3- Leaders Rise Up

It can be easy to get trapped into the arguments of what is an Elder, Deacon, etc, etc. Some of those details are important, but for today lets just rise out of those nuances and details and focus on the importance of conducting ourselves in God’s household, the church of the living God. Solid examples are given in this chapter, may we treat this role and position with honor, respect, and rise above and glorify Jesus with our lives. Leaders, rise up, for such a time is this. 

1 Timothy 2 - Centered

Christ is at the center of this message, and that should center us as well. These were issues of the church of Ephesus! What are our current issues that are pulling us away from being centered on Jesus? No matter what that issue is for you, or me, we can point back to prayer. Prayer is essential to center us on our God and our Savior. May we be centered today on Jesus, and God may we glorify you and honor you with our actions. Amen. 

1 Timothy 1 - The Phoenix 

We read in the initial letter from Paul to Timothy, this extreme contrasting of who Paul was, and who Paul is today. I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man...now I am an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior...

Who we were shapes who we are, but who we were does not determine our destiny or cancel our call.
