I need words...
I really don't have the words in my vocabulary to explain what happened to me on Monday, August 1st, 2005. The comfortable world that I lived in was turned upside down and rocked! It was jolted like I would of never fathomed, and also in a way that I don't fully understand. On Monday morning, around 10:25 am Eastern Time, I was announced as the new Fellowship Church Uptown Campus Pastor! Yes, you read that right, Terry Storch is a Campus Pastor.
So, what does that mean? I really don't fully know to be honest with you. I have a lot of work to do. I have a lot of praying to do. I have a lot of questions that need to be answered. And most of all, I have a lot of surrendering to do.
Let me put it like this. I was very comfortable. I think in a good way, but I had it all figured out..kind of. And now, well...I don't know jack squat. Don't get me wrong, I can talk about satellite churches with the best of them. I have been to conferences, lead sessions about them, I have blogged about them, I have given advice about them, and have critiqued them. All theory brotha.
Now the rubber meets the road. Time to move from theory to reality. The challenge is on, and I am like a fish out of water, totally dependent and relying on God in a crazy and fresh new way.
I know, I know, that is where I need to be! But it does not make it any less freaky. Freaky and very exiting. And while I am freaked out, I do have a whole new energy, and a whole new passion that I really don’t fully understand just yet. I am totally looking forward to the challenge, and I know that this is going to be fun. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me and us as a family.
So, now you know.
***Well, all the above I wrote on Friday, and now after this weekend and Randy’s message all I have to say is... W. Whatever. If you have not seen that message I encourage you to pop over to www.fellowshipchurch.com and check it out. He spoke directly to me and Robin with that one. Whatever, Whenever, Wherever, and However God needs, we are here to serve.
