Five Year Fridays

Today is Friday. Think about a Friday five years from now. Get a good image of that Friday and answer these questions. Write them down. (I got this idea from Marjorie Blanchard)

  • Where do you live?

  • Who lives with you?

  • What does your day look like, what are you doing?

  • What are you excited about?

  • What general observations stand out?

Then, think about five more years. Then five more, and so on and so forth.

For me, that’s age 47,52,57,62 and 67.

What theme appears?
What do you see emerging that you may not have realized?

I had Robin do this and we compared notes. It’s a fun exercise - but an emotional one. It’s emotional because you feel the season come, and go. You feel your kids leaving, your parents passing and new seasons birthing.

Having a vision of the future can and should shape decisions we make today. Are you living and focusing on the most important things? Time keeps on ticking.
