When it come to true change, lasting change, we never see sustainable long lasting change from short term thinking. We might need a quick burst of motivation and energy towards addressing a situation, but the quick burst must be partnered with a long term and sustainable plan to see real and lasting results. 

Christian leaders in our churches, businesses, governments and beyond need to stand out. You and I have a clear message here from Paul, to be above reproach, living a life where our actions are inline with our beliefs. Having the knowledge of the Gospel isn’t enough, it must change and transform us and our actions must fall in line with our beliefs. 

Paul then breaks this down into what modern media would make look like a click bate article on HuffPost, The Six Tried and True Ways to Stay Strong in the Lord. Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Feet fitted with readiness - Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation  and the Sword of the Spirit.

Hope in the Lord...not wish in the Lord or “think” or “pray” or “sit on our butts” in the Lord. Hope is movement and joining the battle on the field. We must take the step, then the next step, then the next step, even when we don’t think we can take another step, we must take the step. 

Fathers, you are called and equipped to be an incredible leader at home and with your kids. Dig in, pursue your calling with passion and intensity like you would if it were your job or your hobby. What could be more important than the legacy you will leave with your kids? 

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Jesus does not call us to a easy and safe life. The Good Samaritan risked his life, and served selflessly. We are called to be Dangerously Unselfish as King describes it! This act, and following the commands of Jesus is what will Make America a Better Nation. 

Let’s follow Kings words and command, and “Straighten your backs up...because a man cant ride your back unless it’s bent.”

When we can fully receive God’s grace and love we can transfer this pure offering into how we see ourselves. How we can accept ourselves and love ourselves, not because we are perfect and without sin, but because God loves us and has washed us in the blood of Christ. Why is this so important…

As a follower of Jesus, it is our responsibility to grow, to mature and to draw closer to God to live it out, to walk out our salvation here on Earth. To effectively do this, we must broaden our inputs, and not depend on a single teacher, or pastor, or even local church to be the full picture and source of our growth.
