Freedom

Christ has broken the chains of bondage and set us free from the law. Unpacking this a little, this morning, Paul is driving home the reality that the law can not justify us. The law can not provide us freedom, and we can not earn our way to heaven, work our way into a relationship with God, or check off a list of laws and get an attaboy from God. These legalistic actions will only produce bondage.

Grace

As I read in Galatians 3 this morning, my mind takes me to those lyrics...Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. I was putting my own story in the lyric and knowing how God reached down from heaven to lift me out of my lost and dying lifestyle decades ago. Praise God. It was on a Sunday in Irving, Texas I stopped putting my faith in things of this world, and turned my life to Jesus and stepped into the family of God, joining the family of Abraham, the man of faith.

Alive in Christ

“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” - ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The same spirit that raised Christ from the grave lives in you.

Paul was talented and extremely gifted, and dude, Paul hung out with Jesus and had a crazy conversion story that everyone knew about. Paul had the goods.

Our economy has tanked, and people are in a panic with their 401k’s, and investment portfolios losing crazy value. Mass hysteria is sitting in with the health concerns around this virus. The real virus is turning out to be fear, anxiety, and panic.

Pride Called Out

In this closing out section of 2 Corinthians, Paul is circling back to the “Super Apostles” and bringing correction and clarity on this crucial topic. If you recall from earlier, there were the puffed up Christians in Corinth that were challenging Paul and bringing up his lack of speaking skills, polish and financial status. We are about to dive into Paul addressing this again.

Eager Generosity

It’s interesting when we invest in something how we love seeing the results. I have great anticipation, and eagerness builds up just thinking about my oldest daughter heading off to college soon. I am eager to see her flourish and grow in the new season of life, and I am so excited to see how God continues to grow her, and how she develops into a fully developed adult.
