Colossians 2 

In times like we face today, we need hope, strength, peace, and a solid foundation to place our faith. Jesus is what we need. The full gospel that Jesus offers, not a fake substitute version we are feed by some feed we are scrolling. Our spiritual fullness is in Christ alone. 

Colossians 1: 15-20 - Who is Jesus?

Jesus is a masterpiece painting of God himself. The invisible God we can not see was divinely revealed with Jesus. The firstborn heir is not the “firstborn.” This is not a title, and it’s an event. Jesus is technically before time, God. 

Feelings are a real thing; we all have them even if we are not “feelers.” I would be one of those who classify as a thinker, not a feeler. A joke around here, and with me, is I have one single feeling, and it often gets used up quickly, leaving none. I am not very emotionally expressive, and I am growing, but I still don’t have high emotional self-awareness. Reading this, you might just think I am dead inside, but it’s not that bad. 

Philippians 4 - The Lord is near. 

Because the Lord is near, we should rejoice, and let our gentleness be evident to all. I love this, and it rings true all through the Bible. We should be an overflow, serving and doing for others, not just receiving for ourselves. Let your gentleness be evident to all, and this happens because we are doing something with our rejoicing. 

Philippians 3

Growing up, I traded just about everything. I traded baseball cards, I traded pet gerbils, bikes, and RC cars. Nothing I had was permanent, I was always looking to trade up and improve my position. This did drive my mom a bit nuts…

Philippians 2:1-11

I know this topic can be debated and has been debated by people much smarter than me. But, let me try and simplify it, or at least share how this makes sense in my mind. This suffering and struggle are what lead us to humility. The best way to strip us of our pride, ego, and worldly ways is to take us to a place of vulnerability and weakness.

Philippians 1

If you have followed my dispatch or my writings, or know me very well, then you know I talk about mindset and perspective a lot. I believe our mindset and perspective is a mission-critical part of our life and will radically impact the trajectory of our life and legacy. As we dive into Philippians, here in chapter 1, we see this in vivid color in Paul's writings.

Philippians Intro

Who is your best friend? How did that friendship form, and what holds the bond together? My guess is you will find at the center of that relationship and bond a unified mission. A mission in raising kids, a mission around a business, a mission around a strong marriage. When on a mission, you will develop the best and most meaningful friendships. So, if you are seeking deep and meaningful friendship, may I suggest starting by giving your life to a mission worthy of if.

Be encouraged today in the space you occupy, and the calling God has for your life. God has uniquely equipped you to embody the space you occupy fully and to serve and lead in the role He has prepared for you. 

We might need reminding that Christians still sin. A shocker, right? We fall short and sin regularly. We are not to justify those sins, but we are supposed to support each other and guide each other out of a sinful life. Paul uses the words “restore that person gently.” This embodies grace and love. Restoring and back to life and back on track.
