Called - Ephesians Intro

Do you ever remove names in the Bible and add your own? Putting yourself in the story, seeing yourself in the book is a powerful tool. Do this with me, opening Ephesians today check this out:

“Dear friends, My name is Paul, and I was chosen by God to be an apostle of Jesus, the Messiah.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Put in your name, your descriptor, maybe your title at work, what you do, then finish it as in verse 1.

Dear friends, My name is Terry, and I was chosen by God to be a digerati pastor and leader of Jesus, the Messiah.”

An essential point with this opening, and this exercise is knowing and realizing a crucial point around calling. MInistry is not the highest calling of God. Whatever God has called you to be and equipped you to be is God's highest calling for your life. So, if you wrote a nurse, software engineer, stay at home mom, teacher, CEO, product manager, medical device salesman, designer, accountant, clothing designer, artist, writer, assistant, or yes, even pastor. Whatever it is that God has called you to be is the highest calling of God for your life, and we should be enjoying it, rather than feeling guilty.

Be encouraged today in the space you occupy, and the calling God has for your life. God has uniquely equipped you to embody the space you occupy fully and to serve and lead in the role He has prepared for you.

“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.” - ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As you step into your day, step confidently into your calling. In times like these, God needs you to be bold, healthy, and confident in Him. You were chosen by Him, lead and live your life like it.
