John 14 - The Gift of Peace

John 14 - The Gift of Peace

John 14 opens with Jesus, saying, Don’t let your hearts be troubled. And the chapter closed down with Jesus saying Don’t be troubled or afraid.

A message that needs to resonate with our spirit and our inner self. This was such a good reminder, reading through John 14 over and over. This passage lifted off the screen.

“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” - ‭‭John‬ ‭14:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have been given a gift, a gift that provides peace of mind and heart. This is our gift! You have this gift, and I have this gift. The question is, have we received this gift, and have we opened it? Peace of mind and heart is not being held from us; we have access to this, we have this gift...we must receive it and open it.

This is pretty easy to say and type...but when you are in the deep, and not anywhere near peace, this is not so easy. I recognize this, and in areas of my life, and in times of my life, I deal with this very thing. We must meditate on this passage, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, and minister to us...and at the same time we have to understand that we have a gift, and that gift needs to be recieved and opened. The gift of peace, the gift of freedom, the gift of unconditional love is ours. Do not be troubled or afraid, rest in Jesus and who he is. Recieve the gift today.
