More questions than answers

Do you ever find yourself having more questions than answers? Maybe you are in a new job and don’t fully understand the why behind the what and go home daily a bit frustrated, not understanding the ins and out for the role. Or maybe you are a student diving into Chemistry or Physics, and you hear and read the words, but they do not compute into anything logical in your brain. You are left with a ton of questions.

Well, that is what Romans chapter 9 is for me, I walk away with a lot more questions than I have answers, and I think that is ok. There are many areas of the Bible. I walk away with more questions than answers, and over the years, I have developed confidence in questioning. And, at the same time, my faith has grown, and I have more belief in the God who loved us so much He sent his son Jesus, the Christ to save us.

The Bible doesn’t answer all our questions, and we shouldn’t pretend it does. Evolution, the “Big Bang,” predestination, free will, pre-tribulation, post-tribulation, new Earth, old Earth, the Trinity, and the list goes on and on. These are the easy ones to draw out, and I am comfortable with leaving some of these a mystery.

The Bible does make it clear that there is great mystery, and mystery of God that sometimes is revealed to us. I do believe that to be accurate, and the Bible makes that clear. The mystery is good, questions are great, and my faith is stronger today while at the same time I have deeper and more profound questions. What I know without a shadow of a doubt is;

“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” - ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
